The theme for our Fall stewardship campaign is Called Forward. This October we will be hearing stories and reflecting on how we are called forward by God, as a congregation and as individuals, even in the midst of a global pandemic. Philippians 3:14 says, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. We are called by God to press on toward fulfilling our calling as a congregation, a calling to love others, care for on another, grow in faith and welcome others in God’s name.
There are so many ways that God continues to work in and through us at Abiding Savior to share love with others and to grow and nurture faith. Even if we have to find new ways to be church together, our church continues to make a difference in our families, our community, and even out into God’s world. Through our congregation and our many partners in ministry, we are certainly Called Forward by God.
As we live together in God’s love and live out our calling from God, we know that the ministries of our congregation happen only because of the generosity of its members. We are blessed to be a blessing in and through Abiding Savior. The blessings of our congregation have never seemed so clear as we grieve the loss of our fellowship opportunities, our many meals served from the kitchen, and even worship as we used to know it in our congregation. This temporary interruption in our ministries makes us realize how important our church is to our lives and our community.
