Generosity is at the heart of what it means to be a Christian. The sharing of our resources as well as our time and talents is one of the ways that God works in the world. Without sharing, the church and all that God accomplishes through the church would not exist. It takes volunteers and it takes resources to run a church. It is only through your sharing that God accomplishes so much through Abiding Savior.
Generosity fuels the weekly worship services, Bible studies, youth and children’s programming, fellowship, and caring ministries that you and your family have experienced here at Abiding Savior. Generosity fuels the work God has done and will do in the lives of so many people that have grown in faith through this place. Generosity also fuels the work God is doing through Abiding Savior out in the world through partnerships with Community Partners with Youth (CPY), Irondale Pantry, the St. Paul Area Synod, numerous mission trips, and our companion congregation in Iringa, Tanzania to name just a few.
This Fall, the Stewardship Committee is asking each of us to look deeper at our generosity journey by completing a short assessment called a Generosity Autobiography. A Generosity Autobiography challenges us to explore the past to see how our attitudes, assumptions, and values concerning money and wealth were formed. Writing a Generosity Autobiography helps us understand our actions and feelings evoked by money and how those feelings, attitudes, assumptions, and values shape our approach to generosity.
You will find the materials for the My Generosity Journey fall stewardship campaign below. They include the Generosity Autobiography as well as a pledge card for the upcoming year. I encourage you to take the Generosity Autobiography and to pray about your generosity toward the work of God done in and through Abiding Savior in the coming year.
Wherever you are at on your generosity journey, God can and will use the gifts of your time, talent, and resources to make a difference in the world.
God’s blessings!
