Fall 2020 update: Pastor Ryan and our Children’s Ministry Director, Patty Mesenbring were privileged to gather input from a group of parents regarding ideas for Sunday school and Wednesday evening programs this fall.
Parents shared that maintaining habits, rituals and traditions is important to families—the ritual of Sunday morning worship and the weekly habit of Sunday school; the tradition of Wednesday evening being “church night.”
Staff and parents worked together to come up with some options that will allow families to continue building and deepening faith through these important practices. Our plans for Sunday school during the 2020-2021 ‘school year’ are outlined below, but we welcome your suggestions for improvement or changes at any time.
September 20 and 27— Stay for a short Family Sunday school on the lawn following the worship service. If weather prevents us from meeting outside the lesson will be streamed live on our Facebook page shortly after the worship service concludes.
Beginning October 4—A prerecorded video lesson (about 15-20 minutes long) will be available each Sunday morning on Abiding Savior Lutheran Church’s YouTube page any time after 8:00 a.m. Downloadable materials (discussion questions, coloring sheets, etc.) and a links to videos will be emailed to parents and will also be accessible via our Sunday school resources page.
